Meet the Artist
What's up everyone! I'm Tyler AKA Colordr1p. I"ve always believed color has the power to say what words can't. Every brush stroke, pencil line, and paint burst on the canvas is a piece of how I process the world. (Loud, layered, and real)
At a young age of 10 years old, it started in 3rd grade. I could take it back to the crayola days, but I'll leave it at that. (Let's just say I had a thing for melted crayons in the car seats.) Art was the class I looked forward to every week in school. I used to always be in competition for 1st place for the art show every year. (There was a girl who took 1st everytime but once.)
It wasn't until my 1st year of college that I decided to start my path for a career in art. Howard Community College is where I decided to enroll for graphic design. Even though my time in college was short, I was able to do some art there. I ended up being sick for over a month, which led to backing out of school. I missed so much work that I had no chance of catching up. (Said by the professor.)
Fast forwarding, I decided school just wasn't for me. With severe anxiety being present a lot of time, going to school the nxt year for the first day and leaving again, I figured it was time to walk a different path. So I did. I worked and took more of a "I'll make it work as I go" type approach.
Eventually I created a painting in March 2020 that led to my artist name "Colordr1p" (See at bottom of text) From there I knew this was the journey I needed to pursue.
A painting of abstract color shapes that were dripping down the canvas with a Yin Yang in the middle. Expressing emotions was a high challenge when I was younger and still is. I found that art was my light for that.

Looking ahead in life I questioned where I wanted to be and there hasn't been anything else like my passion for art that has kept me going besides family. Here at 26 years old now, I'm working to fufill my dream as a full-time artist. To add on, not just for myself, but I want to inspire others to create their own artwork for a living.
